Background checks for ammunition. Everyone who is surprised at this idea, raise your hand. Everyone else, slap those people on the back of the head.
Here in Alabama, we have background checks for folks buying firearms. It is no big deal, except when it is. I have witnessed U.S. Army pilots trying to buy firearms, only to get denied by the FBI. Think about that. Someone who has a secret security clearance and flies military helicopters, denied the right to buy a weapon. Furthermore, the “system” does not explain why, only that the citizen will not be allowed to exercise the 2nd amendment right, today. Most of the time it is a confusion in identity; the name is the same as some known ax-murderer or something. Still, whatever the reason for the mistake, it is still the denial of a free citizen from owning a firearm.
Now, some elected maggots are contemplating legislation that would not only require background checks for ammunition purchases, but it would also require the authorities be notified if a citizen purchases more than 1,000 rounds. What hogwash. I’ve already been checked when I bought the rifle. Why waste tax dollars checking me when I buy the ammunition? Furthermore, my last ammo purchase was for 2,000 rounds. Does that make me a bad man? Well, it does if you are a member of some nutjob group called “Save the Targets.” Otherwise, I am just someone who likes to see if he can get shot groups just a little tighter than the time before.
None of these ignorant ideas put forth by any of these moronic politicians will do a single thing to save the life of anyone. Of course, they know this. The idea is not to remove the guns and ammunition from truly bad people. The idea is to remove the guns and ammunition from the hands of the good citizens who love liberty. Truly bad people will have weapons and will never care about a piece of legislature. Of course, the worst of the truly evil people don’t even carry a weapon. They have other people protect them, usually at the expense of your tax dollars.
Remember, this has nothing to do with the safety of the citizenry and everything to do with the safety of those who would be tyrants.
My bigger concern is that they make ammo more expensive by way of new taxes. If they make it too expensive, people will practice less and be less proficient when they really need to be.

Amen, and we know that is going to be part of their overall plan.
